Planning Your Maths Puzzle Day

The School Puzzle Company's aim is to be as flexible as possible when creating our Maths Puzzle Activity Days. We know that each school has different aims and objectives for their booking and different numbers of classes that you may wish to participate. Below are some questions that we are commonly asked.

How far in advance do we need to book our Maths Puzzle Activity Day?

The School Puzzle Company is a popular choice for schools so we suggest letting us know as soon as you have a preferred day. This will avoid disappointment. We are always happy to provisionally hold a date for you whilst you are planning your day.

What age pupils do you work with?

The School Puzzle Company work with both Primary and Secondary Schools and differentiate the activities accordingly. We work with classes from Reception (EYFS) in Primary School up to year 6 including all years in KS1 and KS2. In Secondary schools our Maths Puzzle Activity Days are suitable for KS3 students.

How many pupils can we work with at a time?

Each of our instructors can run a session with up to 60 pupils (two classes) at a time. The only year group that we suggest working with groups of 30 is Reception (EYFS) in Primary School as this provides the opportunity for the instructor to give that extra explanation and support that they will need to get the most from our Maths Puzzle Activity Days.

Where will the activities take place?

We generally run the activities in large areas such as school halls or sports halls. This allows us to put some gym mats down on the floor. Alternatively if preferred we can run the activities on tables.

How many sessions can you run in a day?

This depends on the length of the sessions. We can comfortably run our Maths Workshops for all classes in both 1 and 2 form entry schools in one day.We have created an example timetable for a 2 form entry Primary School on the right of this page.If you would like us to create a proposed timetable for your specific requirements  please do contact us

How do we book?

To make a booking with The School Puzzle Company we will provide you with a short booking form that will need to be completed and then emailed back. This will secure a booking for your school. This form will provide us with all of the timings of your school day and numbers of pupils involved. If we have not pre agreed a timetable for you day before booking we will then create a proposed timetable for you to approve.

How do we pay?

No deposit is needed and Workshops at Schools Ltd will invoice after your Maths Puzzle Activity Day has taken place.

Are there any hidden costs?

The price you are quoted for you day will be the price you pay. This is with the exception of VAT being added on. Luckily most schools can claim this back. There is no hidden travel costs or accommodation expenses. The price you see is the price you pay.
